If you use Google Classroom, you’re probably wondering how you can connect it with AES.

Currently, we offer two ways to connect AES with your Google Classroom system:

  1. Single Sign-On

  2. A Lite integration

In this article, we’ll explain what each option is, how it works, and who can use it.

1. The Single Sign-On Integration for Google

You probably hear complaints from your students about forgotten passwords on a weekly (if not daily) basis. With Single Sign-On, your students can save time and save you the hassle of dealing with forgotten passwords.

What Is the Single Sign-On Integration?

Single Sign-On (SSO) allows teachers and students to use their Google accounts to access the AES system.

This works by taking your initial login to Google, encrypting it for security, and then using the token to access the AES system without the need for a separate username and password.

An SSO integration makes it easier for you and your students because there is one less password to remember, resulting in fewer login issues.

Who Can Use Google SSO?

Any AES customer can use the Sign In With Google option for themselves or their students.

How Do I Use the Google SSO Integration?

There is no technical setup required to connect your Google account with your AES account.

To use this integration, you must have the same email address associated with both your Google and AES account. If that’s not the case for you, click here to update your email address in the AES system.

Once you’re logged in to Google you can use the Sign In With Google button to access your AES teacher account:

For your students to use Google SSO, they will need to confirm their AES account uses the same email address as their school Google account.

2. The Lite Link Integration Between AES and Google Classroom

Teachers often ask how they can add a link within Google Classroom for students to access the AES login screen. The Lite integration can help you do just that!

What Is the Lite Integration?

With the Google Classroom Lite integration, you can add a link to AES as a material in your Google Classroom Classwork area.

We call this option a “lite” integration because it doesn’t require a data connection between the systems. It’s simply an easy way to help your students access AES!

Who Can Use the Lite Integration?

This option is available to any AES customer who uses Google Classroom to share classwork with their students.

How Do I Use the Google Classroom Lite Integration?

Setting up your Lite integration is a 6-step process that will only take a few minutes to complete.
