To get a complete picture of how your students are doing in your class, it’s crucial for you to see what your students are working on and how they are progressing through assignments.
In this article, you will learn how to:
See when a student last logged into AES
View student activity logs
View assessment grades
Check the status of non-graded work
Determine how much time students spent working
1. See When a Student Last Logged Into AES
Use this quick check to keep tabs on when your students log into the AES system.
To see when a student last logged in, follow these quick steps:
Step 1
On your My Classes tab, choose a class.
Step 2
Click the Students tab.
Step 3
You’ll see your student roster list and a column titled Last Logon.
This information shows the date and time of each student’s last login to the AES system.
2. View Student Activity Logs
Use the Student Activity Report to dive into the details of what a student works on when logged in.
Just because your students are logging in, that doesn’t mean they are actively working.
The Student Activity Report shows you a reverse-chronological list of when a student:
Signed in or out
Entered or exited an eLearning lesson
Started or handed in an assessment
3. View Assessment Grades
Dive into the Grades tab to discover how well your students are doing on the automatically graded assessments.
When your students are learning remotely, you’ll want to keep close track of how they are doing on the unit quizzes and module tests.
From within your class, click the Grades tab to see your AES gradebook.
The default view will show you the students' class average and their module average grades, including any quizzes and the module test that the student has completed.
To look for specific grades, you can choose the module you’re interested in and even drill down to the individual student level.
4. Check the Status of Non-Graded Work
Review the completion status of the interactive lessons and electronic worksheets with the Status Reports.
To access this information, click the Grades tab. Then click Status Report in the left-hand menu.
The Status Report page includes all of the details you need to view the lesson and worksheet completion status at both the class and student levels.
From the Class Status Report view, you'll see the following for all students in the class:
The average grade for all assignments
Number of modules completed
Number of quizzes completed
Number of worksheets completed
From the Student Status Report view, you'll see the following information for a specific student:
Status for ungraded, interactive lessons
Grades for unit quizzes, module tests, and custom exams
Number of questions answered in the electronic worksheets
You can click on a grade at the student level to see more details on the assessment. In addition, you can click on the link for their electronic worksheet to bring up their saved responses.
5. Determine How Much Time Students Spent Working
Use the Time Online Report to discover how much time your students spend working in AES.
When using distance learning, your administration may require detailed information showing how much time your students spend learning.
The Time Online Report is the easiest way to view, export, and share that information for the specific timeframe you need!
Note: This report is updated overnight and currently gives the best information for teachers when it is pulled for a date range up to the previous day.
