In this article, you will learn how long a module should take you and your students to complete and how curriculum hours can help you plan your classes.
What is a Curriculum Hour?
A curriculum hour is the amount of time it will take students to complete work in a module. Each hour is based on a 45-50 minute class period, so they are not considered true 60-minute hours.
Modules are composed of units. Units are groups of lessons or activities with resources for teachers and students within a module.
You can use curriculum hours to measure the number of class periods it will take to cover a module in AES.

How Can You Use the Curriculum Hours to Plan Your Syllabus?
The curriculum hours help you plan and pace your class.
You can easily remove units that you don’t plan on covering in a class. So, you only teach the material you need to cover in your course. This will help you get an accurate estimate of the number of class hours it will take you and your students to complete a module.
When you remove a unit or activity from the class, the overall number of curriculum hours updates automatically.
Curriculum hours will help you better plan your due dates, classroom activities, and assessments.
