The Advanced Pacing settings will help you automate what your students have access to, so you don’t need to give access manually. This will save you a lot of time!
In this article, we will review the three Advanced Pacing settings:
Require students to complete the previous module in the class before starting the next.
Require students to complete all units in a module before taking the module test.
Require students to complete all lessons in a unit before taking the unit quiz.
These settings can be used independently, paired, or you can apply all three!
Require students to complete the previous module in the class before starting the next.
This feature is great for preventing students from working ahead or completing assigned modules out of order.
To turn on this feature:
Step 1
Open your class and navigate to your Assignments tab.
Step 2
Click Student Pacing from the left-hand menu.
Step 3
Check the first box under Advanced Pacing: Require students to complete the previous module in the class before starting the next.
Require students to complete all units in a module before taking the module test.
Use this feature to automatically open the module test after students have completed the formative unit quizzes.
To turn on this feature:
Step 1
Open your class and navigate to your Assignments tab.
Step 2
Click Student Pacing from the left-hand menu.
Step 3
Check the middle box under Advanced Pacing: Require students to complete all units in a module before taking the module test.
If you need to, you can still open a module test for an individual student even with this feature is turned on.

Step 2
Click Student Pacing from the left-hand menu.
Step 3
