The Catalog is where you can view course templates, access certification guides, and preview all the curriculum. This helps you create your syllabus or plan out the topics best suited for your courses.

To access the Catalog you must have a class created, then, from any page click the Catalog tab in the upper right-hand corner of the page.

In this article, you will learn about five features within the Catalog:

  1. Course Templates
  2. Learning Modules
  3. Curriculum Search
  4. Course Guides
  5. Certifications Guides

1. Course Templates

Click the Catalog tab and you’ll land on a welcome video showing the structure of our curriculum and the resources within all our learning modules.

Course templates make it easy to plan your classes. These combine learning modules together in a recommended teaching order, based on popular courses found throughout the country. Below are three examples of course templates.

Health Science: The Medical Office Assistant course template.

Health Science: NOCTI Health Assisting certification template.

Note: Certification templates are organized separately to provide teachers a template aligned directly to learning objectives for national certification exams. Read about the certification guides in the next section of this article.

Business/Career Readiness: The Google Applications course template.

2. Learning Modules

A learning module is a collection of lessons and assessments about a single topic.

Click on the name of a learning module to open all the included supplemental teaching resources, such as lesson plans, PowerPoints, worksheets, and more.

Each learning module is designed to make your life easier and improve your students’ long-term retention of information. We organize curriculum into a 4-phase framework: Explore, Learn & Practice, Reflect, and Reinforce. Each phase has its own set of resources.

3. Curriculum Search

Looking for a specific topic, but not sure where it is covered in AES? You can use the Curriculum Search to find it!

Type in what you’d like to find, for example, “vital signs”. The most relevant resources included in your subscription will be listed.

This quickly shows which learning modules you need in your classes.

Note: Our Health Science and Business curriculum are sold separately. You will not be able to add modules to your class that fall outside your school’s subscription.

4. Course Guides

Detailed guides are included in all our templates.

Course Guides include a general course overview, list recommended materials, sum up the estimated curriculum hours, and more.

5. Certification Guides

Certification Guides offer an in-depth crosswalk showing how AES learning modules align with certification requirements.

In many cases, these documents are used to identify areas where you’ll want to add supplemental resources to meet certification requirements.

The Catalog is regularly updated, so you always have the latest information to successfully plan your classes.
