There are four ways you can enroll your students in classes. Each method is based on a different use case and situation.

In this article, you’ll learn how to:

Watch the video for a walkthrough of all 4 enroll options or continue below for the step by step instructions based on your use case.

Option 1: Enroll Students for the First Time with an Enrollment Code

Each class has its own unique enrollment code. When you give this enrollment code to your students, they can add themselves to your class without you doing all of the work yourself.

It takes about five minutes for students to enter the enrollment code and enroll in your class for the first time.

There are two ways to enroll students with an enrollment code:

  • Students can type in their username/email and create a password
  • Or if they have Google accounts, they can use the Google Single Sign-On button

You'll need to decide which option you would like to use before you give your students instructions.

To share the enrollment instructions with your new students, click the button below and fill out the top portion with your class enrollment code and method of enrollment!

Here’s how to enroll students with a class's enrollment code:

Step 1

Select the class that needs students enrolled.

Step 2

From there, navigate to your Students tab. Then, select Enroll Students from the left-hand menu.

Step 3

In the Student Self-Enrollment box, you will find your class’s unique enrollment code.

Step 4

Give this unique five-character enrollment code to your students.

(Images are a sample and do not contain an existing enrollment code.)

Step 5

Direct students to learn.aeseducation.com.

If this is the student’s first time enrolling in AES, have them create a new student account.

If your students have previously created an account, continue to Option 2: Enroll students with AES accounts in new classes with an enrollment code.

Step 6

Have your students enter the enrollment code and fill out the subsequent form to create their account.

Do your students have Google Accounts? If they do you can have them use the Google Single Sign-On button rather than filling out their information.

Step 7

Once they enroll, your students will appear in the appropriate class’s student roster page. At this point, you can opt to close enrollment to prevent duplicate enrollments.

This is the most common way teachers enroll students in a class. But you also have a second option if this doesn’t work for you.

Option 2: Enroll Students with AES Accounts in New Classes with an Enrollment Code

Students who have already created accounts can still enroll with an enrollment code.

(If a student does not recall their password, you can add them to the class and then reset their password on the student's tab.)

To share the enrollment instructions with your returning students, click the button below and fill out the top portion with your class enrollment code!

Here's how you can have students with existing AES accounts self-enroll:

Step 1

Select the class you want students to enroll in.

Step 2

On the Overview tab, click Enroll Students in the lefthand menu.

Step 3

In the Student Self-Enrollment box, you will find your class’s unique enrollment code.

Step 4

Direct students to learn.aeseducation.com, tell them to sign in and then enter the enrollment code.

Step 5

Once they enroll, your students will appear in the appropriate class’s student roster page. At this point, you can opt to close enrollment to prevent duplicate enrollments.

Option 3: Manually Enroll a New Student in a Class

You can also enroll individual students in your class manually.

This is perfect for adding a new student to your class mid-year after the semester has already begun.

Here's how you can manually enroll your students:

Step 1

Select the class in which you will enroll the student.

Step 2

From there, select the Students tab.

Then, click Enroll Students on the left-hand menu.

Step 3
Click the Enroll Student button in the Manual Enrollment box.

Enter the student's username or email address. This is what they will use to log into AES.

Step 4

After selecting the Next button, you can enter the student's name and create a password for them.

(Students are not notified when an account is created for them. You will need to record the credentials to give to the student manually enrolled.)

Step 5

Select the Finish button.

You’ll be taken to that student’s dashboard in your student roster. You can always access this page from the Students tab.

You can now give your student the credentials you created for them!

Option 4: Manually Add a Student with an Existing AES Account to a New Class

If a student has used AES in the past, they already have an account set up.

You can add this account to a class by using the Student Search.
